Abstract

Background. The article analyses competence and activity based approach of students as the basis for their general learning actions development. We offer a model of professional training of students on the basis of the said approach and determine ways to solve the problems in competence and activity based approach realization.
Materials and methods. The article analyses the IIIrd generation of Federal State Educational Standards and Law on Education of RF from 29.12.2012 on which basis we develop the aims, structure, content and results of professional students training according to competence and activity based approach.
Results. The article shows effectiveness of professional students training through competence and activity based approach, intention of professors and students to use competence and activity based approach.
Conclusions. Using competence and activity based approach in the learning process provides the following results: practice oriented learning process; strengthening of pedagogical activity; popularization of self-directed learning; implementation of diagnostic methods estimating education results.
